It's a hyphen.

So our little city's name consists of two hypenated words - Winston & Salem = Winston-Salem. A few creative teens/socially tragic people decided in that past few years to dub it the "Dash" for the hyphen between the two words. So whenever people are referring to W-S they say the Dash. For example, when are you going out in the DASH tonight? I have never really used the term, but hey, to each there own.

We have always had a local baseball team in our little city, a minor league farm team for the Chicago White Sox. When I was younger it was the Spirits...for the past few years it was the Warthogs. Both very random I know, but I always loved the Spirits...anyways, I digress. The team received new owners, and they are in the process of building this nice new baseball stadium downtown, right off a major Interstate. And with the new transition comes another new name.

With many options to choose from we are now the Winston-Salem DASH.

After a brief stint working in marketing..I would HATE to have been apart of this campaign...
Can't wait to see the new mascot....
