So we vetoed our Asheville trip and decided to park it at the pool on Saturday instead. It was hot and the cool water helped, plus JA spent most of the time on the diving board showing up all the little kids with their goggles and swim shoes on with his mad skills...you remember, the watermelons, the jackknives, the deadmans...all very challenging and techinical in their own rights. That evening we drove all the way up 52 to the closest Steak n Shake to enjoy our favorite treat before seeing "Get Smart" with Steve Carroll and my girl Anne Hathaway. It was really good and full of good laughs. I really liked it, but I did have a true issue with the age difference between Max and Agent 99...I mean he's like 20 years older than her and when they kissed I wanted to gag....I finally noticed what the older actresses are always saying, how their roles are going to these younger fresher faces. Don't get me wrong, I love Anne. And I can't really say who I would have preferred to see him with etc, but it still made me srunch my nose and think WTF?!
Sunday was spent basically JA doing his usual schedule of early am GOLF and late pm FLAG FOOTBALL. I went to The Home Depot, got plenty of plants to eventually murder and went home to sweat it out and get them in the ground.
We have a small group of friends here that we get together with monthly and have a Sunday Supper Club. It has grown in the past year with the birth of 4 babies. Katie, Harrison, Leah and now Lula have all joined our families and we love them! Last night was hosted by Matt and Mollie Mayse and they have a wonderful backyard mainly because of the hammock that JA deeply coveted. My pic for the day is of JA along with Leah and Harrison relaxing after a huge meal of BBQ, slaw, tomato pie, pasta salads, hush puppies and delicious desserts.... It's really too cute for words. All of me smiles for the thoughts it brings to my head and then it me want to cry - I just love this guy so much!!!
